And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Allah the things which be Allah’s and unto Allah the things which be Allah’s.
How does this twist settle with you?
Christ understood the distinctions between allegiance to government and allegiance to your faith.
And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s and unto God the things which be God’s. (Luk 20:25) KJV
This morning I read a FoxNews story about Keith Ellison, a newly elected member of Congress that is to be sworn in next month. The catch is that he wants to be sworn in on a Koran, not a Bible. Is this OK?
I don’t think so because, the Koran represents a theocracy, both a faith and a system of government. Islam does not allow for a nation of religious choice such as ours. I’d be OK with a Jew swearing on the Torah or whatever they choose, because Judaisms is a faith system not a government system. So how can a person honestly swear to uphold the laws of a nation that can’t exist according to his faith. I don’t think he can, and I think that our nations religious freedom’s will be the losers. Show me a few Islamic nations that have religious freedoms that even come close to us.
In our nation we maintain a government which allows and supports freedom of religion. There is no freedom of religion in Islam. Islam will not rest until the whole world is one Islamic state under sharia law. I think it was a mistake to elect this guy in the first place lets. If he doesn’t want to swear on a bible then I don’t think we should make him, that’s religious choice. But don’t allow him to swear on the Koran, a system of government that is incompatible with our nation.Tags: Islam, American Culture, National Issues
