Does a pre-birth baby feel pain? Should you care?

Well I hope you do because if you don’t then I would guess you are severely whacked and should seek professional help immediately. This story from ABC online is about republicans having the nerve to push a bill that would advise mothers that fetuses can feel pain and offer anesthesia for the soon to be killed baby. Hard to believe there are people who not only want to kill babies, but also want them to feel pain. I wonder if these wimps refuse Novocaine at the dentist. So what is the profile of these masochists?

From ABC News Online

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco last year reviewed dozens of studies and medical reports and said that fetuses likely are incapable of feeling pain until around the seventh month of pregnancy, when they are about 28 weeks old.

House Conservatives Push Fringe Abortion Measure Instead Of Vital Budget Bills

But if that same child is born into a home where it is abused and neglected, and then beaten to death by the time it’s three years old, who f**king gives a s**t? (Wally bleeped)

An act of desperation it is. A last ditch effort to push it on the people. Waste of time.

The crazy Christians only care about children before they are born, after that, send them off to kill the brown people.

I guess these christian bigots don’t really believe so much, or else they would just pray for divine intervention to save these clumps of cells.

And to confuse things, this from the Daily News Central

They conclude that legislative proposals to allow fetal pain relief during abortion are not justified by scientific evidence. But their seven-page article has a weakness: It does not mention that one author is an abortion clinic director, while the lead author — a medical student — once worked for NARAL Pro-Choice America.

So what is the answer? Can fetuses before 28 weeks feel pain?

I say, avoid this question by trying not to harm them, and trying not to kill them.

I realize from the progressive comments that some are still bent on killing kids. I offer this purely circumstantial evidence that kids feel pain.

A baby is still a baby whether or not it is born. And I will take it on faith that if a 22 week old fetus can be delivered and grow up, then we should concern ourselves with causing them pain.

  2. I believe that a pre-birth baby does feel pain. Yes we as a nation should care!! There is no reason why we shouldn’t show pre-humans this type of care and support but dogs. If we show animals this type of support and care then why not humans? This is what we struggle to realize. It is after a few months that an embryo has a heart beat. We need to realize that these babies that are in the form of a human has a heart and can deelop into a great mind!!
Just think if you were and pre-birth baby and your skull was crushed how would you feel?

  3. Melody,

I was a bit irate when I first read the ABC news story. Here a year or so later, I’ve calmed down a little, but not much.

It’s a bit weird how much traffic this post continues to get, yet you were the first to comment. It’s a tough subject.

There seem to be so many out there, who even when they know in their heart that a fetus is a living child, still outwardly refute it so they can stomach their pro-abortion position.

Thanks for reading, and I pray that you keep strong.
