It just struck me hard the way that the same story can have such different perspectives. I could surmise that the Herald, and especially KGMI, want to paint the “Governoire” in a favorable light, while the Times is going to explain what that favorable light is going to cost us.

Governor’s budget: Millions for Whatcom County
Governor Christine Gregoire’s budget proposal includes some big increases for education and other projects in Whatcom County. The proposal includes $330 million for K-through-12 education in Whatcom County. That’s a nearly $26 million increase. $10 million in clean-up grants would go to the Port of Bellingham. Birch Bay State Park would get $10 million for shoreline water system upgrades. Western Washington University would receive $21.5 million to renovate and modernize facilities.
