Yesterday an AP story was all over with a couple of disturbing quotes from our Governor.
Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire said she will not compel any of the state’s National Guard troops to serve on the Mexican border if they’re asked.
“I’m not going to force any National Guard member to go there,” Gregoire said. “If I have volunteers who want to, we will support their request.”
What about supporting the request of our president?

If President Bush wants our National Guard at the Borders then I think you should send them. I believe it should be both your honor and your duty to put the request of our nations leader ahead of the request of National Guard members. Our President shouldn’t have to federalize the guard to get us to honor his wishes.
